Erin & Chris: A Morrocan inspired sunset elopement at Painted Hills, OR

October 22, 2018

Chris & Erin had been having a long distance relationship for some time, something I can relate to all too well, having done a transatlantic love affair for a few years before moving to the States!

Erin is from Pittsburg and Chris from Toronto, they met when he was touring the world with his band.

Adventuring to new places is definitely at the core of their relationship; Erin tells this story about the night Chris proposed. “I threw on this Spotify playlist without thinking, and a song that resonates dearly with us (Electric Indigo by The Paper Kites) started to play. The timing couldn’t have been any more perfect. He asked me if we could always take adventures together. I said yeah, duh, of course, but then he got down on one knee and asked if I would take adventures with him forever.” Crying yet?! After struggling to navigate the complexities of planning a wedding between two countries they decided to elope in Oregon, and we were so freaking happy we got to be a part of it!

Erin described their style as pretty neutral and said she just wanted the ceremony to reflect their spontaneity, sense of adventure and love for each other. We designed the palette around the Painted Hills, picking earthy tones and greens and yellows to contrast with the terracotta hills and added a moroccan vibe as a nod to their love of far flung adventure.

Amelia of Tersilla (my long time floral crush) knocked it out of the park with the wild florals that she created on site, while chatting away and barely looking at them, like, seriously this girl is a genius!

Erin’s Made with Love gown from A & Be in Portland looked like it had been designed with her incredible body art in mind. It was the perfect dress for her, and Chris rocked his green suit.

Pacific Brides took Erin’s fine hair and turned it into the BIGGEST most gorgeous waves. She was just astonishingly beautiful.,,

The intimate ceremony was breath-taking, I don’t think I’ve ever cried more than when Chris read his vows.. I mean, he is a song writer so what did I expect!? The sun came through the clouds just as they said I do, in a moment that was pure magic.

Following the ceremony and gorgeous newlywed pics with Lauren, the couple enjoyed a Morrocan style picnic, local beer and cake, before leaving to spend their first night as husband & wife in Portland. Erin & Chris, your day was perfect and we were so happy to be a part of it.
